Support Marine Research in Greece.

Merman Conservation Expeditions Ltd is raising funds to acquire a small research boat and an electric motor to enhance fieldwork on the endangered Mediterranean monk seal (Monachus monachus) and elasmobranches, including the common stingray (Dasyatis pastinaca). Both species are key indicators of marine ecosystem health and require quiet, low-impact surveys in sensitive coastal areas of South Pelion and the Aegean Sea. This campaign will directly support: • Purchase of a lightweight research boat for near-shore documentation of marine wildlife • Installation of an electric motor for silent operation in protected habitats • Year-round monitoring of monk seal caves, stingray nursery grounds, and coastal biodiversity • Operational costs for fuel, maintenance, and insurance for the offshore research vessel • Acquisition of safety and recording equipment essential for underwater data collection Each contribution strengthens our capacity to conduct independent scientific research, collect verifiable field data, and provide open-access findings for conservation authorities and citizen science networks. All donations are used exclusively for field operations, equipment, and vessel maintenance. Donor Recognition Donations Over €20 All donors contributing over €20 can participate with our research team for free on board our vessel during fieldwork focused on monk seals and elasmobranchs. They will also be featured in our official thank you video highlighting fieldwork and marine conservation efforts. Companies Over €100 Corporate supporters contributing €100 or more will be acknowledged with a small logo flag on our research vessel and in thank you videos filmed during our field expeditions.
